Video interview: Are we ready to reconsider pumping in Switzerland?

Breast milk pumping in Switzerland, sadly, is a controversial topic. It still considered embarrassing or taboo talking about it. People often assume breast pumping is something unnatural and cannot be considered as breastfeeding. Pumps are being associated with pain or as a solution for nursing problems. A lot of moms feel that pumping devices are bizarre, humiliating and exhausting. Despite the fact that mothers in Switzerland have to go back to work after 3 months, a lot of moms struggle to pump their milk at work and as a result, decide to stop breastfeeding at all.

But if you want to know the truth about pumping, watch our video interview with the major breast pump manufacturer Medela and learn that pumping can be as nice as nursing (see my previous article). But just look at those thousands of moms pumping their milk and share their pictures #medelamom on social media encourage and inspire each other. If you look for supporting moms in your local community, you can join the Breastfeeding Mamas in Switzerland group on Facebook.
