Top 5 badis for families and kids in Zurich

It’s safe to say that summer has started and the kids want to be outside as much as possible – that’s why we’ve curated a list of the top five badies for families and kids in Zurich and in the Zurich area. We did some research and got insider tips from locals with families on which are the safest, most fun places to go swimming in Zurich – be it lakes, rivers or city swimming pools.

Flussbad Unterer Letten Zürich für Kinder1. Our first favourite (although we have to say that all the badis on our list are our favourites) is – Flussbad Unterer Letten. This natural pool on the Limmat river is totally free – so great for a tight budget because all you’ll have to spend money on is some ice cream as a treat for the kids. It has two pools for little and bigger children, so perfect for all ages: Link

Swimming Zurich with Kinds2. Next on the list is a badi that comes with its own beach: the – Strandbad Mythenquai. The website specifically says that this badi is perfect for children of all ages because it has special facilities for the smaller ones. It is on the lake and it’s a huge one. You can bring your whole family for a big social gathering or you could go here for some precious mommy baby time: Link

Badi Zürich für Kinder3. The Strandbad Tiefenbrunnen carries a very special badge of honour: Local kids say that out of all the badis in Zurich, they love this one the most. It has all the facilities possibly needed by families and is also by the lake, so it makes for a beautiful day out. In addition to the pools, there are sports facilities such as table tennis, volleyball fields and a 62m waterslide: Link ↗

Zürich mit Kinder4. The next badi is one for the parents: locals say that they love this one because it’s the biggest out of all the pools on our list and it is in the middle of the city, so easy to reach even without a car. Freibad Letzigraben comes fully equipped with several different pools for children, parasols and an outdoor playground for the kids who don’t love swimming and playing in the water: Link

Zürich für Kinder5.The last badi on our list is another favourite of Zurich parents: they say it’s more quiet than the other pools in town, so it’s perfect to relax while the little ones are having fun with the other kiddos. The Dolder Bad in Zurich has a heated outdoor pool, a diving board and even the possibility to play mini golf. It offers something for every taste: Link

Zürich für KinderAs you can see, possibilities to cool down on a hot summer day are numerous in and around Zurich, but whatever Badi you choose, be sure you use the best available sunblock to protect your children from the sun. We recommend the new La Roche-Posay Gel Wet Skin LSD 50+, a very water-resistant, fragrance-free sunscreen even for children with sensitive skin. Also, maybe your kids will enjoy My UV-Patch too! A little interactive adhesive tattoo that you place on the sun exposed part of the skin. It can teach kids in a fun way how to adopt responsible measure when out in the sun. There is also an App and a built-in game where kids get rewarded for responsible behaviour in the sun.
