Pure relaxation: Gartenhotel Crystal in Zillertal

(From our archive. Updated) As a frequent reader of this blog, you might be surprised to read this article reviewing not a classical family hotel. I always wanted to visit Zillertal and an opportunity to discover a new hotel was especially exciting because my kids were on a school holiday and the whole family, including our puppy, could join me on this trip. As a result, we all had a great time. A few days of relaxation recharged my batteries and put a brighter smile on my face. I can assure you, if you want to feel at home, feel that I have a space to retreat alone or with a group of girlfriends, or even with a family, your stay at Gartenhotel Crystal will be one of the most enjoyable.

Gartenhotel Crystal in Fügen is owned by a charming family Wetscher-Falch that also own Hotel Anton in St. Anton am Arlberg that we had visited many times already and knew that the quality of service and comfort of the guests are their top priority. Not a surprise that the atmosphere of the hotel was super relaxed and the staff was very friendly and never intrusive. The hotel director Peter is always around and takes care of every single guest personally. Isn’t that special?

“What a great place for a wellness trip as a couple, or as a getaway

for best girlfriends!”

The hotel is stylish, a mix of traditional and modern and at the same time extremely connected to nature, with all the amenities you’d expect from a 4-star superior hotel. It boasts 2 spa areas (one renewed and one totally new) with wonderful facilities, pools, a jacuzzi and a well-equipped gym. My husband and I took turns so one day I was able to completely dedicate to myself and wellness. I have finally tried herbal stamp massage for the first time in my life: it was so incredibly relaxing. Another thing, I was absolutely fascinated by the pine relaxation room, lounging on the waterbed I thought: “What a great place for a wellness trip as a couple, or as a girlfriend getaway!”. There are several attractive offers and available packages to choose from, pretty cool for what you can expect.

Hotel Crystal is known for its big and diverse garden. With so much space to play and to run around it turned into a real highlight for our dog and the kids (they are also indoor playrooms for teens and kids). Talking about the rooms, our room was very cosy with a big balcony and a beautiful view. The hotel has several family rooms, but we booked one big room which had enough space for a king bed and a sofa-bed for the kids. And of course, we absolutely loved the restaurant food. The environmental ethos was partially reflected in the fantastic food, homegrown or locally sourced: a generous breakfast buffet, 6 delicious courses served every evening and a fantastic afternoon tea buffet with sweet and savoury options.
