The spring has finally arrived in Zurich and it`s time for our apartment to get some sunshine through the windows again. But I’m afraid, this year I don’t want to do it by myself. I came across Batmaid, a cleaning service agency that I found interesting in terms of flexibility and price, but would a cleaning lady online bring any good results? I decided to give it a try and here is my review.
My first impression, the Batmaid website is easy to get around, even from my mobile phone. I enter my ZIP code and book an estimated 4 hours. I have a choice of 5 extras in addition to the extra cleaning so I choose to add “Windows”. It gives me CHF148.- for a one time booking which is 37.-/hour which is a regular price for a cleaning lady in Zurich. When I switch to “Every 4 weeks” it gives me 34.-/hour. Hmm, why not to have someone helping at least every 4 weeks and for a better price! I leave a few helpful instructions and pay with my credit card. The next day I get a call from the Batmaid agent with a few questions about the size of my windows to make sure I have estimated it right. Now, I just hope my dream cleaning lady arrives on time. Will she arrive at all?
The cleaning lady arrives on time. A short conversation about what I would like cleaned and where my cleaning products are. She’s asking for a ladder – thank God I have one! I`m off cooking and playing with kids, time goes by fast and after 4 hours she’s telling me she’s finished and asking with a smile if I am satisfied with the work. My windows are shining and I`m totally happy with her work, and of course, the time she gave me to spend with my kids. Thank you very much, dear Batmaid M., I will definitely book you again!
When you have children you want to keep things as flexible as possible. Working with Batmaid was a nice experience plus it’s legal, transparent, and the most important, flexible. It’s ideal for last minute booking and for long-term too.
